What are iShares ETFs?

iShares ETFs (exchange traded funds) are some of the fastest-growing investment vehicles in the financial market today. Like index mutual funds, ETFs are portfolios of stocks or bonds that track a specific market index. Like stocks, ETFs can be bought and sold on an exchange. In 2008, exchange traded funds received net inflows of $175 billion, as investor demand for cost efficiency and investment transparency increased during volatile markets.²
